The chatter in the air.
The sound of charcoals falling onto the grill.
The whir of the blender making those frothy drinks.
The static of an AM radio station.
Talk of who is going to be the Cinderella team of the fall.
The roar of the crowd.
Can you hear it? I can! Oh boy am I excited.
If you don't know already, today is the first full-day of college football! Woo-hoo! Oh I love this time of the year.
The pomp and circumstance of getting ready for the game. Watching the pre-game activities on ESPN College Gameday. Seeing the cars around town with the flags of their university flying in the wind.
For those of us who are football fanatics, this is the best time of the year! I got my initial feel for the game this past Thursday night as there were a few games on that caught my attention.
So, my dear readers, please expect a few more sporting posts this fall as I reflect on the season as it progresses.

Yahoo! I'm so pleased it's finally here. :) I love this season. I just wish it FELT more like real fall temps. Happy watching, Ragey.
Yeah, I so love football season. Especially my fave NFL team...the boys in the Black and Gold!!!!
I had no idea, Ragey, that you were a football fan!!!! I'm glad that today is here, too. Our first game is at 5:00 p.m. today, and I can't wait!!!
lol, you're too much.
Oh gosh you make me miss football so much. But I've given up college football while I'm here because I'm so frustrated by the way these boys are coddled and allowed to slide by as if the Uni is doing them a favor-- and meanwhile I can't get into the library to do research on the weekends of home games.
But your post makes me want to drop my principles, grab a beer and some face paint and watch football. ::sigh::
I understand what you are saying Prisca. It is not quite football season weather with the excessively high temps we are experiencing in the south.
Oh yes, Seeking Solace, Sundays . I didn't know are for football too! Next week I'll have 2 full days of football. Yay!
Billie - this is the best time of the year. I so love the excitement of the game.
:) Rented Life!
I do understand your frustration LifexHistory. It is a bit disconcerting the way some of those athletes are treated at those big time universities.
So where's the football weekend wrap-up? I'm expecting great discussions and analysis of the Mich./App. State upset, the Ga Tech/ND roust etc. How did your teams do?
I just posted it Prisca!
