College football recap week 3

RSU (0-3) lost a top 25 team.
HBCU (1-1) had a bye this weekend.
TU (2-1) pulled off a win today. They blew out a team from a lower division.

Random highlights from around the country...

Coach Sylvester Croom
of Mississippi State is a coach on the hot seat. He needs for some good things to occur this season, I think, if he wants to keep his job. Well, his team pulled off a big win today over Auburn. That's a start. They need to keep it up though.

The Big House was happy today as Michigan finally notched their first win of the season. Those Irishman in South Bend aren't feeling so lucky. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Really makes you wonder whether Notre Dame got rid of Tyrone Willingham too soon. Just a thought.

Kentucky pulled off a big upset over in-state rival Louisvile.

In an off-the-field altercation, the Oregon Duck mascot was suspended one game (select link for video) for a brutal attack on Shasta, the Univ of Houston mascot. Shasta basically just laid there...

All in all, I didn't catch much football on Saturday. I was really into packing and I had several errands to run.

the UT/UCF game was quite good. I fully expected Central Florida to beat the Longhorns there for a while. I was actually late for a departmental thing on Saturday because the 4th quarter got so good.
UL/UK game was decided in the last 30 seconds. Louisville *should* have won, but they have a habit of snatching defeat out of the hands of victory...

Yeah, that would have been a pretty big upset if UCF had beaten Texas.

I was really shocked by the UK win. It seems that UK finds a way to lose a game they've been doing well in, for the most part.

What is up with the Oregon Duck?! They don't have good luck with their mascot recruitment.
